About Me.

Greetings! I’m Kerry Lawlor, a current graduate student & mixed methods UX researcher based out of the eclectic city of Cambridge, MA. With a deep-rooted curiosity in human behavior and technology, I thrive on uncovering insights that drive user-centric design decisions.

Prior to pursuing my Master’s Degree in Human Factors at Bentley University, I was a management consultant for 4 years at Deloitte. I focused on strategy and analytics projects in the life sciences and healthcare industry spanning public and private sector clients. In my last role at Deloitte, I was a Business Analyst driving the redesign of the blood donation experience for a Fortune 500 biotech company. This project proved so intriguing and fulfilling, that ultimately I trace back to it as the inflection point for my pivot from management consulting to UX design.

So I took the leap, plunged into UX, and have been dovetailing my business and UX skills ever since! To date, I’ve consulted for a myriad of clients on UX projects related to my interests in health, civic tech, and climate. Reflections from this work have led me to curate my own personal design philosophy that centers innovation, accessibility, and social consciousness at the core of my approach.

Boston’s rich history and diverse culture inspires my work, reminding me daily of the importance of inclusive and accessible design. I am deeply committed to creating digital experiences that resonate with users from all walks of life. Whether I’m facilitating usability studies, coding interview transcripts, or running a diary study, my goal remains the same: to push creative boundaries and design experiences that are not only user-friendly, but also foster a positive impact on individuals and society as a whole.

When I’m not heads down in my user research, you’ll find me hiking mountains, listening to indietronica music, reading fiction novels, or playing with my kitten, Benny!

I love to connect with fellow professionals and enthusiasts in the UX community. I will be graduating from my Master’s program in May 2024 and currently looking for work opportunities.

Please feel free to reach out - I am just an email or coffee away!
